China’s New Role in World Affairs: Partner or Competitor?
This roundtable seeks to investigate the growing interconnectedness between China and the world by assessing China’s involvement in select fields of global governance (global environmental issues, global health, global security, global trade, and finance) from a cross-disciplinary perspective. The roundtable will discuss the multiplicity of Chinese actors and institutions involved in global affairs and shed light on the hidden (domestic and global) drivers and determinants underlying the readjustment and fine-tuning of China’s foreign strategy in the 21st century.
