The 20th ACPS Annual Meeting Report
We just concluded a successful conference on “Harmonious World – China””””s Domestic and Foreign Policies” from July 14-15, 2007 at San Francisco State University, hosted and co-sponsored by the Center for US-China Policy Studies, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, the Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Two books flowing from the conference papers, titled: “Harmonious World and China”s New Foreign Policy” and “China in Search of a Harmonious Society,” will be published by the Rowman & Littlefield in 2008.
The nation”s foremost China scholars, Professor Joseph Fewsmith and Professor Robert Ross, are featured keynote speakers, and they addressed China”s pronounced domestic and foreign policy issues at the conference. Dean Kassiola delivered a welcome speech at the opening plenary on the dilemma of industrial civilization and China””””s development path in the 21st century and attended the two-day conference. Dr. Yenbo Wu, Associate Vice President for International Education, also attended the two-day conference and introduced Professor Joseph Fewsmith, one of the keynote speakers at the dinner banquet. The conference received a wide coverage by local Chinese media, such as World Journal, Sing Tao Daily, Ming Pao, Qiao Bao, KTSF Ch. 26, etc. People from the SF bay area communities also attended the conference.
